Athlete of the Week

Ryan has enjoyed success during his first year with the varsity basketball squad and Indian fans have enjoyed his efforts during the recent week of action. Last Tuesday, Feb. 8, the sophomore forward led the Indians to a 49-32 win over Oelwein, boasting a career-high 19 points and adding three assists, two steals, and a block in the win. Last Friday, Feb. 11, Ryan's efforts were just as vital as the Tribe upset eighth-rated Waverly-Shell Rock 56-54. Ryan hit the game-winning three-pointer with just five seconds left to seal the win for his team.
With the season nearly complete, he ranks not only among the Indians' statistical leaders, but also among the best in the Northeast Iowa Conference. In league contests, Ryan is in the top ten in scoring (10.8 points per game), three-point percentage (46.43), and three-pointers per game (1.3) and sits among the leaders with 4.3 rebounds per contest.
