Benefit event Feb. 19 for house fire victims

A benefit event for Gerry and Janette Blong and Betty Ryder, who lost their home and belongings in a January 21 house fire, is being planned for Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds Pavilion in Waukon.
A meal will be served from 3 to 7 p.m., with a silent auction taking place from 3 to 9 p.m. A bake sale will also be held throughout the afternoon of the event. A dance DJ'd by Tom Frascht will take place from 7 to 11 p.m..

Monetary donations for the fire victims are being accepted at Waukon State Bank and Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be offering matching funds.
