Big 4 Poststar 4-H meets at the library

The regular meeting of the Big 4 Poststar 4-H Club was held on Feb. 14, 2005 at the Postville Public Library. The meeting was called to order by Vice President, Darren Kraus, at 7:30 p.m. There were 9 members and 13 guests present. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Stacy Berns.

Roll call was name a goal in 4-H you have for 2005. The secretary’s report was read by Darren Kraus and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Nancy.

Nancy reminded everyone that they are to pay their club dues.

JoAnne had a recognition for our new members, Kristine Schissel and Zach Eberling.

New Business: Our club workshop will be held on March 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Citizens Center. On March 13 the Family Sunday Brunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Citizens Center.

Nancy reminded everyone to look over their newsletter about the FSQA training workshop. You need this training to sell your animals at the Livestock Auction.

JoAnne talked more about fundraising ideas. The club decided to sell the butter braids. The orders have to be in my Feb. 25 to Nancy at the Telephone Co. with the money collected. The butter braids will be delivered on March 18.

Becky Berns made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Kimberly Kraus seconded it. The leaders led the 4-H Pledge.

Presentations were given by Stacy Berns and Shaun Rekow doing a speech presentation called Madam President. Sara Schutte made pineapple salad and Becky Berns made Lifesaver sun catchers.

Lunch was served by Stacy and Becky Berns.
