Cases heard in Allamakee County District Court

Burckart
Christopher A. Burckart, 41, was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief after Waukon police officers were called to 206 First Street NE around 10 p.m on July 28, 2004.
According to the report, officers were met by Lila Nobles, who explained that that she and Burckart had been involved in a verbal/physical disagreement. Burckart was escorted from the residence, however he returned about 50 minutes later. He kicked in the door to gain entrance. He was later arrested and booked.
Burckart pleaded guilty to the charge of fourth degree criminal mischief and fined $250. He was also ordered to pay restitution for Noble’s door.

Nash
Jacob J. Nash, age and address unavailable, was found guilty of possessing marijuana during an October 2004 traffic stop.
According to the report, on Oct. 7, an Iowa patrolman was travelling on 250th Ave. and Skaim Hollow Drive, near the Allamakee-Winneshiek county line, when he saw a vehicle along the side of the road. The patrolman stopped to check the vehicle and found Nash and a juvenile female in the car. Nash gave consent to search the vehicle and, during the search, the patrolman found a bag containing a marijuana pipe and a plastic baggy with a green leafy substance. Nash said it belonged to him and he’d bought it from a friend.
Nash later pleaded guilty to possessing marijuana. He was fined $250. A second charge of possessing drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

Martinez
Victor Martinez, 22, of Postville, was charged with criminal mischief after he was involved in the vandalism of a car on July 18, 2004.
According to the report, at about 12:30 p.m. Martinez hit a vehicle owned by Antonio Escobedo with a beer bottle. He also kicked the vehicle causing approximately $3,000 in damage.
Martinez was originally charged with second degree criminal mischief, but pled guilty to fifth degree criminal mischief per a plea agreement. He was fined $100 and ordered to pay restitution to Escobedo. Another charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed.

Dorsey
Scott R. Dorsey, 30, of Waukon, had charges of assault brought against him after an altercation with a 14-year-old girl on July 8, 2004.
According to the report, during the fight Dorsey pulled the girl’s hair and slammed her against a car, breaking the car’s antenna off. Dorsey was pushing the girl against the car when the remnants of the antenna cut her. She was later taken to Veterans Memorial Hospital and received several stitches.
Dorsey had been charged with assault (serious), and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. He was fined $100.
