Cause of vacant trailer fire still under investigation

The Waukon Fire Department and Waukon Police Department responded to a report of a fire at an unoccupied trailer home at Northview Trailer Court in northwest Waukon Thursday evening, October 10. Waukon Police Chief Phil Young reported that the trailer was fully engulfed in flames when the fire and police departments arrived at the scene. Young said that police officers evacuated the residents of nearby trailers while the fire department concentrated on preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent trailers. The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by the Waukon Police Department and the Waukon Fire Department. Standard photo by Bob Beach.
