Chamber seeking nominations for "Person of the Year"

The Waukon Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations from community residents for Waukon's "Person of the Year" honor. This is the eighth year the Chamber will bestow the honor upon a Waukon resident fitting the award's criteria.
That criteria includes exemplifying the spirit of Waukon through dedication and service to the community; making a difference in the community with active and enthusiastic volunteerism; being a leader - defined by actions, not title - by instilling their own community pride, high personal standards and values in others around them; and serving as a positive role model to this community's future generations of leaders by demonstrating integrity, character and trustworthiness.
Past honorees for the award have included Ray and Ralph Sweeney, Daniel Regan, Charles Pettingill, Marvin "Bud" and Marge Strike, Revelyn Lonning, Dan Welsh, and just last year, Joe Cunningham.
Nominations for Waukon's "Person of the Year" award should be submitted in writing to the Waukon Chamber of Commerce office, located at 101 West Main Street, by March 1.
The "Person of the Year" honor will be awarded at the Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting, which will be held April 9 this year at the Waukon Reception and Banquet Center.
