Decorah Athletic Boosters to host Junior Viking wrestling tourney

The Decorah Athletic Booster Club will host its annual Junior Viking Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, March 12, at the Decorah High School.

Wrestlers in the beginners (K-2) and Pee-Wee (3-4) divisions will compete in the morning session. Weigh-ins for this session is from 7 to 8 a.m., with wrestling beginning at 8:30 am.

Grapplers in the junior (grades 5-6), senior (7-8), and novice (9-11) divisions will compete in the afternoon, with a weigh-in session from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Wrestling will begin at approximately noon.

First place winners will receive a t-shirt and trophy. Second place will receive a trophy with medals going to the third and fourth place finishers.

Entry fee is $10 and participants must pre-register by March 9. No walk-ins will be accepted the day of the tournament.

There will also be an optional team tournament in both sessions. The team entry fee is $10 for a ten-person roster.
