Donald Glenn Palas

Donald Glenn Palas, 56, of Lakeland, Florida formerly of Luana, Iowa, died Friday, January 14, 2005 in Lakeland from injuries suffered in an airplane crash.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, at 1:30 p.m. with Military Honors.
Donald was born February 8, 1948, to Glenn and LaNida (Nevermann) Palas. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Luana. He graduated from MFL High School in Monona in 1966. Donald entered the US Marine Corps in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He served in Viet Nam.
Don worked for several farmers and farmed in the area before moving to New Jersey and then to Florida 18 years ago. Don started the flight school in Lakeland.
He married Linda August in August of 2003. To this union came 4 stepchildren. One brother, Stan Palas, precedes him in death in 1979.
He is survived by his wife Linda, 2 stepsons Tim and Travis, and 2 stepdaughters, Jasmine and Jillian, all of Lakeland. His parents, Glenn and LaNida (Neverman), Palas, Luana; 3 sisters, Sandra Bertenshaw, St. Louis, MO, Patty (Rod) Pritchard, Monona; Dawn (Jay) Pritchard, Des Moines, IA; 1 brother, Dave (Rosalind) Palas, Postville, IA; 1 sister-in-law Marcie Palas, Dickyville, WI; and a host of nephews and family and friends.
