EIGHT INDIAN TRACK BOYS QUALIFY FOR STATE MEET IN SEVEN EVENTS

Eight members of the Waukon Indian boys track team have qualified in seven events for the 2000 Iowa High School Boys State Track Meet to be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines this Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27. The Indians turned in one of the top 24 performances in Class 3A in each event this season to earn qualification in the seven events. The events, the Indian competitors who qualified, and the times they are scheduled to compete in the events at the State Meet are listed below.
Friday, May 26
11 a.m. - 3200 meter run finals: Juniors Cody Kammeyer and Ben Stamper.
1:05 p.m. - 1600 meter medley relay final: Senior Brian Dahlstrom, junior Justin Bulman, senior Josh Tweedy and junior Cody Kammeyer.
3:45 p.m. - 400 meter hurdles preliminary: Tweedy.
5 p.m. - 4x400 meter relay preliminary: Seniors Nick Farley, Eddie Frick, Kirk Deal and Tweedy.
Saturday, May 27
11:25 a.m. - 4x800 meter relay finals: Deal, Frick, Kammeyer and Tweedy.
1:45 p.m. - 1600 meter run finals: Kammeyer and Frick.
2:45 p.m. - 400 meter hurdles finals: Tweedy, if qualifies in preliminary.
3 p.m. - 800 meter run finals: Tweedy.
4 p.m. - 4x400 meter relay finals: Same as above, if qualifies in preliminary.
