Extension to offer gardening program March 14 in Waukon

Iowa State University Extension, Allamakee County, will help homeowners get the most from time spent in the yard and garden with a program entitled “10 Things Every Gardener Should Know” being held at the Robey Memorial Library in Waukon Monday, March 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Bob Hauer, Extension horticulturist for Northeast Iowa will talk about soils, fertilizer, insects & disease, plant selection and more. While the emphasis will be on the garden, Hauer will also talk about landscape trees and turf as well. The workshop will focus on what plants are best for this area and how homeowners can get the best return on garden investments.
