Extension to offer March 14 program on gardening

Working in the yard and garden is enjoyable, more so if you reap rewards for your labor. Iowa State University Extension, Allamakee County, will help you get the most from your time in the yard and garden with “10 Things Every Gardener Should Know” at the Robey Memorial Library in Waukon Monday, March 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Bob Hauer, Extension horticulturist for Northeast Iowa will talk about soils, fertilizer, insects & disease, plant selection and more. While the emphasis will be on the garden, Hauer will also talk about landscape trees and turf as well. If you’d like to know what plants are best for our area and how to get the best return for your garden investment, join us for this informative workshop.
