•Ardie Kuhse showed her doll collection at the women’s group meeting at Zion Lutheran Church last week.

•Hall and Luann Swenson announce the engagement of their daughter Crystal Kay to Edwin Walter Klenk son of Mary Klenk and the late Ed Klenk. A June 10 wedding is planned at Community Presbyterian Church.

•Mr. and Mrs. David Lensing of Postville announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Angela Sue to Michael Christopher Dark of Cedar Falls. A June 3 wedding is planned in Cedar Falls.

•Ten Years ago

•Last Monday the following members of the American Legion received certificates for 50 years of continuous membership: Leo Foels, Molly Owen, Laverne Stumme, Winfield Masonhall, Donald Martindale, Dr. R. F. Schneider, Clarence Brandt, Robert Gruhn, Loren Eberling, Donald Folsom, Norris Blegin, Marvin Chevalier, Durwood Schutte and Clarence Tindell.

•Mabel Burrow received an award at the March 20 American Legion banquet for 75 years of continuous membership in the American Legion Auxiliary.

•Lucas and Tonya Winter are proud to announce the engagement of their mother Dianne to Rick Bushman. An April 29 wedding is being planned.

•Twenty-Five Years ago

•Kermit W. White of Four County Ag Service recently attended a Vita Plus sponsored financial planning seminar for feed dealers the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse.

•Dick Schara formerly of Postville is the new sports editor of the Storm Lake Pilot Tribune. He covered the boys basketball team at the state tournament at Des Moines last weekend in which Storm Lake won the Class 2A champion ship.

•Fifty Years ago

•Charles Deering, former Postville High School star was among 68 winter sports performers to earn athletic awards at Iowa State College at Ames. Deering was a guard on the Cylcone frosh team.

•The Postville High School Dance Band the “Piracats” will play for the Calmar prom May 14. The band is under the direction of Eldean Drewes.
