Mayor John Hyman presented a plaque to Mark Seegmiller for his over 20 years of service to the City of Postville.
Leigh Rekow of Postville has announced his candidacy for State Representative for District 32 on the Republican ticket.
Four Postville wrestlers will be competing in the state meet next week. They are Tony Stumbo, Brad Snitker, Mark Mueller and Jarrod Olson.

*Ten Years Ago
The Postville Fire Department responded to a call Monday, February 20 for a car fire. No one was injured and the fire was extinguished quickly and without incident.
Whitey and Evelyn Meyer held an auction at their cafe, which is closing, last Monday.
The Postville girls' basketball team began the tournament trail last week with wins over Guttenberg and MFL MarMac. Jody Dean scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds against Guttenberg.

*Twenty-five Years
Lab tech supervisor Gerald Guyer is now running blood sugar tests on Community Memorial Hospitals new Gilford 102 Spectroph lab testing machine.
An estimated $8000 worth of meat was lost in the blaze at the Postville Locker Feb. 14. The Locker is owned by Byron and Sandy Everman.
Della Palmer celebrated her 99th birthday Feb. 14 with cake and ice cream at the extended care unit of Community Memorial Hospital.

*Fifty Years
Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Eder of Strawberry Point and Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Eder of Volga City were Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eder and family honoring the the birthday of George Eder.
Mr. and Mrs. Curt Abernethy went to Chicago Friday evening where they spent the weekend on a buying trip for their clothing store.
