Karna Lynne Groe and Shawn Paul Schroeder were united in marriage Sept. 4, 2004, in a 4 p.m. ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waukon. The bride’s father, Rev. Lynn G. Groe, officiated the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Rev. Lynn G. and Linda Groe of Waukon and Dave and Becca Schroeder of De Witt, Iowa. Grandmother of the bride is LaVonne Holstad of Forest Lake, Minn., and Ruby Tabler of De Witt is the groom’s grandmother.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Brad Groe. She chose a white strapless two-piece gown that was handmade and designed by family friend Kathy Christenson.
Karna’s personal attendants were Robyn Dodd and Gretchen Dehner.
Maid of honor was Sonny Yuska and Kate Schmidt was a bridesmaid. Flower girl was the groom’s daughter, Anna Schroeder.
Best man was the groom’s father, Dave Schroeder. The groom’s son David was a groomsman. Ring bearer was the groom’s son, Stephen Schroeder.
Ushers were Brad Groe, brother of the bride; Devon Holstad, cousin of the bride; and Dave Yuska.
Don Dodd was soloist and Daryl Hansmeier was the organist. Musical selections included songs by the Beatles.
A reception was held at the Waukon Golf and Country Club.
The bride works for Northwest Title and Escrow in White Bear Lake, Minn. The groom is a manager at the Nextel Store in Minneapolis, Minn.
The couple resides in St. Paul, Minn.
