Kee High School Participates in Credit Card Education Program

State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald announced today that Kee High School was among the 300 schools that participated in the pilot Credit Card Literacy Program sponsored by State Treasurer Fitzgerald’s office and the Center for Student Credit Card Education. “These materials are designed to prepare high school students for their financial future as they enter college and the workforce,” commented State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald. “I applaud and thank Kee High School for partnering with me to provide this great resource to our students.” The State Treasurer’s Office accepted orders for the “The ABCs of Credit Card Finance” materials last fall. The materials will be sent to high school seniors and their teachers this month. Teachers will receive a trainer’s guide and PowerPoint presentation, and students will receive a handbook. Treasurer Fitzgerald urges everyone to get involved in preparing young Iowans for their financial future. “It is up to each of us to do our part to give students the tools to make responsible financial decisions. With continued efforts like this program, we can ensure their future financial well-being.” Due to the overwhelming response to the pilot program, the State Treasurer’s Office plans offer the program again next year, and hopes that every high school will consider providing this opportunity to their students.
