Marilyn Cherie Blietz, 76, Monona, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, following a sudden illness. She was born on September 9, 1928, in Lancaster, WI, to Joseph Lee and Hazel Ellen (Rice) Blackbourn.

On December 5, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Charles Blietz at Cedar Rapids, IA. Three children, Terry, Vicki and Charlynn were born to this union.

Marilyn was a very special loving wife, mother and caregiver. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, knitting, crocheting, reading and dancing. She loved watching birds and especially treasured time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki (Douglas) Heilmann, Luana and Charlynn (Thomas) Schultz, Castalia; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Denise Zimmerman) Blietz, Joshua Blietz, Kristi Montgomery, Heath (Chris) Landt, Preston (Sophie) Landt, Jillian (fiancé Jose Garcia) Schultz, Destiny Schultz, Lisa Heilmann, Paul Heilmann; eight great-grandchildren, Trent Powers, Ryne Landt, Landon Garcia, Alliyah Schissel, Jordan Kline, Kylee Kline, Kendra Blietz, Adrian Zimmerman; two nieces, Linda (George) Howay, Donna (Dave) Hutchinson; one sister, Leola (Roy) Williams, Cassville, WI and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on December 23, 1979, a son, Terry Lee Blietz in 1983, and Donald Weide in 2002, fiancé of Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2005, at Living Faith United Methodist Parish, Monona with Rev. Dennis Gilbert and Rev. Dave Lenth officiating. Burial will follow at Monona City Cemetery, Monona. Friends may call from 3-7 on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, and after 10AM on Friday at the church.
