Music students participate in Allamakee Solo Festival

Thursday evening, Feb. 24, the elementary and junior high schools of the Allamakee Community School District hosted the Allamakee Solo Festival for band students in grades 6-9. Each student was responsible for preparing a solo and/or duet to preform for a judge. After each performance, the students received a rating of “Good”, “Excellent”, “Superior”, or “Outstanding”.

Those students who received an “Outstanding” rating on their solos were: Kasey Manning, Brittany Kruger, Ian Stock, Deb Lund, Leeta Sivesind, Sam Hoins, Wallace Davis, Andrew Davis, Sarah Bieber, Tatum Meyer, Makenzie Lyons, John Bartling, Chelsea McMillan, Elizabeth Riese, Cathy Melcher, and Elizabeth Hoins.

“Outstanding” duets included: Alisha Gaunitz and Angela Aldrich, and Katie Blocker and Vanessa Nevermann.
