Road to the final four is paved

With another exciting weekend of basketball history, the Road to the Final Four has been decided. What excitement? Three overtime games (one double overtime) in the four-games as Illinois, Michigan State, Louisville and North Carolina will be vying for the National Championship in the next few days. Those of us with Big Ten Loyalites are strutting a little prouder this week as Illinois and Michigan State both fought their way to the finals and Wisconsin just missed a trip falling to North Caroline by six after being tied at halftime.

Adrian Adam leads all entrants in the Herald-Leader’s Final Four contest with 93 points. He has Illinois over North Carolina in the finals. Marvin Winter is in second place with 85 points and he has Illinois over Duke in the finals. Malinda Riley is in third place with 83 points. She has North Carolina over Duke in the championship. Dave Ameling is in fourth place with 82 points and his choice for the championship round is Illinois over Duke. Lisa Bacon has 81 points, earning her 5th place to date. She chose North Carolina over Wake Forest in the finals. Ron Harris is currently in 6th place with 79 points. He also has Illinois in the finals over Duke.

Again, our statician Don Drahn relates that to this point the average number of points scored in 64.75 and the median is 75 and the mode is 68.
