NEICAC-Transit to offer free rides for veterans Nov. 11

All over the nation, veterans will be honored November 11 for their service to this country. In Iowa, many of the state’s public transit agencies will be offering free rides to veterans and their families to thank them for their sacrifice.
NEICAC-Transit, the public transit provider for Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties, supports military families. To show support, NEICAC-Transit will be offering free rides to veterans Veterans Day, Monday, November 11 on all scheduled in-town services.
In Allamakee County, Scheduled In-town Service is available in the town of Waukon from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Rides can start and end anywhere within the city limits. There are no bus stops to find, those needing rides can just call the transit office and request a ride, and the bus comes right to their door.
To qualify for the free rides, veterans must identify themselves as a veteran when they call in to schedule their ride. All public transit services are open to the public. Anyone can ride the bus. For more information on local public transit services or to schedule a ride, call 1-866-382-4259 or visit www.neicac.org.
