Circus coming to Lansing March 7
The Jose Cole Circus will be coming to Lansing Monday, March 7. The performance will take place at the Eastern Allamakee Community School District Middle School beginning at 7 p.m. This 30th anniversary edition performance is being sponsored by the Lansing Lions Club.
Tickets may be purchased in advance until March 5 at the following locations: New Albin Savings Bank, Moore’s Foods in Lansing, The Red Geranium, Touch of Class Beauty Shop, and Welsh’s Village Farm and Home.
“The Life of Birds” series featured this weekend at Effigy Mounds
Effigy Mounds National Monument continues its 42nd annual film festival this weekend with another segment of “The Life of Birds” series. This month’s installment is entitled “The Problems of Parenthood”.
Show times for the film will be every hour from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 5 and 6. There will also be a 1 p.m. showing Monday, March 7.

Allamakee Dollars for Scholars to hold April 15 breakfast event
Allamakee Dollars for Scholars will hold a Recognition Breakfast Friday, Apr. 15 at 7:30 a.m. in the Waukon Senior High School Cafeteria. The breakfast is being held to thank individual and group donors, and to introduce student applicants.
Applicants and their parents will be special guests. Individual and group donors are invited to attend. Pledges from the recent phone-a-thon can also be turned in then.
Reservations are not necessary for the breakfast, but would be appreciated. Reservations may be made with Amy Wasson at Waukon Senior High School at 568-3466 or Julie Rotach at 568-3754.
