Disabled American Veterans meeting in Decorah Feb. 16
The Disabled American Veterans Hamre-Giesen Chapter #8 holds monthly meetings at the All Vets Club in Decorah, beginning at 11 a.m. The meeting for February will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Attending meetings will give disabled veterans and their families updates on available benefits. Anyone wishing to attend the meetings but unable to secure transportation may contact Commander Erik Nykannen at (563)535-5430 or erikn@acegroup.cc.
Spaghetti Pops Concert has been rescheduled for February 26
The Spaghetti Pops Concert sponsored by the Allamakee Music Boosters and originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26.
All-School band concert moved up two days
Due to a potential scheduling conflict, the Allamakee Community School District All-School band concert for fifth through 12th grade students has been changed from Thursday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 1. The start time will be 7:30 p.m. at the Waukon Senior High School gymnasium.
"Biography: Abraham Lincoln" this weekend at Effigy Mounds
Effigy Mounds National Monument continues its 42nd annual film festival this weekend with "Biography: Abraham Lincoln", a documentary film to help celebrate the upcoming President's Day holiday.
Special show times (this week only) for the film are 10 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, February 19 and 20. There will also be a 1 p.m. showing Monday, February 21.
