Gipp, Zieman to host legislative forums in Lansing and New Albin this weekend
Representative Chuck Gipp and Senator Mark Zieman will host two town meetings this Saturday, Feb. 12. From 9 to 10 a.m. the pair will be at TJ Hunter's Pub and Grub in Lansing. At 10:30 a.m. they will gather at the New Albin Community Center.
Area residents are encouraged to attend and discuss issues with the legislators.


Spaghetti Pops Concert has been rescheduled for February 26
The Spaghetti Pops Concert sponsored by the Allamakee Music Boosters and originally scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 12 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26.


All-School band concert moved up two days
Due to a potential scheduling conflict, the Allamakee Community School District All-School band concert for fifth through 12th grade students has been changed from Thursday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 1. The start time will be 7:30 p.m. at the Waukon Senior High School gymnasium.


"The Copper Canyon" featured this weekend at Effigy Mounds
Effigy Mounds National Monument continues its 42nd annual film festival this weekend with "America's Scenic Rail Journeys - The Copper Canyon". The featured art display will include Handmade Basket Weaving by Mary Techau of Waterville.
Film times are every hour from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12 and 13. There will also be a 1 p.m. showing Monday, Feb. 14.
