Gipp, Zieman to host legislative forum in Postville this weekend
Senator Mark Zieman, R-Postville, and Representative Chuck Gipp, R-Decorah, will host a legislative forum in Postville this Saturday, Feb. 5. The forum will take place at Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission, which is located at 134 West Greene Street in Postville. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the general public is invited to attend to discuss any and all issues. Job placement, training provided to vets this Friday Special job placement and training services will be offered to veterans and disabled veterans this Friday, Feb. 4 at the Iowa Workforce Development Center located at 1111 Paine Street-Suite G in Decorah. A Veterans Career Consultant will be at the Center from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to provide job coaching, vocational counseling, and referrals to employment, training and education opportunities at no cost. Effigy Mounds National Monument continues its 42nd annual film festival this weekend with another installment in "The Life of Birds" series. The film festival will show segments of this series the first weekend of each month, with this weekend's segment entitled "Finding Partners". Show times are every hour from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 5 and 6. There will also be a 1 p.m. showing Monday, Feb. 7.
