Patti Ruff announces re-election bid for Iowa House of Representatives

State Representative Patti Ruff of McGregor announced Monday, February 3 that she will seek re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives in House District 56, which includes Allamakee and Clayton counties.
“Last session, we made great progress building Iowa’s skilled workforce, expanding access to affordable health care, and lowering property taxes for our local businesses,” said Ruff. “I’ll keep working hard to listen to the people of my district and keep focused on the issues important to them.”
Ruff is currently serving her first term in the Iowa House and serves on Education, Agriculture, and Natural Resources and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee.
“It’s been a great honor serving the people of northeastern Iowa in the Iowa House and I look forward to another productive year,” said Ruff. “My top priority has been growing Iowa’s middle class in rural Iowa and guaranteeing that every child gets a quality education and graduates with the skills necessary to land a good-paying job."
Ruff recently started her 18th season of employment at the grain elevator in McGregor, run by Bunge North America. She served on the MFL/MarMac School Board and as president for four years. As a school board member she oversaw the development of child care centers adjacent to the school and a premier early childcare program put in place. Patti and her husband, Dan, live in rural McGregor and have three sons, Liam, Bryar and Tucker.
