PERPETRATOR OF THREATENING MESSAGE YET UNDETERMINED

In regard to a threatening note found inscribed on a Junior High rest room wall nearly two weeks ago, school officials and local police officers say they are still following leads.
"Nothing has yet been confirmed," says Phil Young, Waukon police officer investigating the case. "However, we will continue to follow up on all possibilities."
According to Omer Troyer, superintendent of schools, if the perpetrator of the message is not soon found, a second letter will be sent to parents of students at both the Junior High and East Elementary, adjoining buildings, stating the schools' plan of action for the May 17 school day, the specific date targeted in the threat.
"Parents will be kept abreast of any new findings in the case and fully informed of any safety procedures implemented within the schools on that day," confirms Troyer.
