Postville merchants sponsor Valentine give-away

by Wanda Simmons
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and Postville merchants want to help all you Cupids out there make this the best Valentine's Day ever.
The Postville Herald-Leader and local participating merchants are putting together some "love"ly and "heart"felt gifts for you and your sweetheart in this year's Valentine's Day Give-Away.
This year there will be three lucky winners instead of just one. All you have to do is register at a participating merchantbetween now and February 10.
The Grand Prize winner will take home a yummy Cookie Bouquet by Misty compliments of the Herald-Leader, plus a host of "sweet" gifts from local merchants.
The second prize winner will take home $15 in Postville Bucks and a mouth-watering box of candy.
Third prize is $10 in Postville Bucks and a sweet box of candy treats.
There's no end to the special treats you'll find in the Grand Prize gift collection. How about starting off with something romantic like a beautiful jewelry box from Interiors and a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from the Wishing Well?
A spa gift box from Sandies Hair Design will sweep your honey off her feet with plenty of pampering, including candies, moisturizing soap and sponge, bath crystals, body scrub and body lotion fit for a Queen (of Hearts, that is).
Are you in the mood to eat out? With all the gift certificates you won't have to spend time in the kitchen for days. Try a gift certificate from Postville's newest restaurant, the Brick Oven Pizza and Eatery. Or "spice up" your love life with a gift certificate for Mexican cuisine from Sabor Latino.
If you want to eat in (with your sweetheart, of course), then you'll love the dozen chocolate roses from the Visitors Center. They also provided heart-shaped cookie cutters and placed everything in a specially embroidered "Postville, Iowa" canvas tote bag.
Maybe you need a little more pampering. If so, a Pomegranate Peach gift set from Possibilities is just what you need to relax and enjoy life, complete with lotion, shampoo, gel and candles.
Don't forget to stop in at the Greene Street General Store and Coffee Shop with your gift certificate. Maybe you want to relax and sip one of their flavored coffees or specialty drinks, or just do a little shopping in the General Store.
And speaking of shopping, the Grand Prize winner will have plenty of Postville Bucks to spend around town, thanks to Citizens State Bank, Postville State Bank, and Citizens State Agency. There are plenty of places in town where you can treat yourself and spend your Postville Bucks. The Hometown Cleaners will be happy to honor their gift certificate and lighten your work load. And John Falb Used Cars has a free oil change just waiting for you. How can your life get any easier?
How? Oh, there's much more. Casey's General Store has a gift certificate too, so maybe you want to put some gas in your tank after that oil change or pick up a pizza so you don't have to cook tonight. Napa has a gift certificate too for those car "lovers" out there.
Register soon at the Postville Herald-Leader or any of the participating merchants mentioned above.
Remember, besides the Grand Prize there are also Postville Bucks and candy for second and third prizes this year. More chances to win means more fun for more shoppers.
The lucky winners will be drawn on February 11, 2005, and will be featured in the February 16 issue of the Herald-Leader.
So get going Cupid.
Don't be stupid.
Register soon
And your honey will swoon,
When you win all the sweets
And take home lots of treats!
