Registration for Kindergarten and Bright Beginnings classes to take place Feb. 15, 16

Kindergarten registration for the 2005-2006 school year in the Allamakee Community School District's West and Waterville Elementary centers will be held as follows:
Tuesday, Feb. 15 - West Elementary, Waukon
Wednesday, Feb. 16 - Waterville Elementary.
As part of the registration procedure, the pre-school children and their parents will receive a letter inviting them to visit and participate in activities in the kindergarten classrooms. Vision screenings and parental information sessions are also scheduled.
Any child who will be five years of age by September 15, 2005 is eligible to enroll. Parents must bring their child's birth certificate or other evidence of age and immunization record with them to complete registration.
Last November, letters were sent home with all the district elementary school children, and to homes with known pre-schoolers, who might be eligible to enroll in kindergarten or Bright Beginnings pre-kindergarten program for the 2005-2006 school year.
Homes that received these letters with an eligible pre-schooler were instructed to fill out a short pre-registration form and return it to one of the elementary school offices.
Parents who did not receive a preregistration form, and have a child who is eligible to enroll, are instructed to call one of the elementary school offices in the district. In Waterville call 563-535-7245 and in Waukon call West Elementary School at 563-568-6375.
