RESCHEDULED: February 20 performance at WHS by "The Cat's Pajamas" postponed to March 3

The Thursday, February 20 performance of the a cappella vocal group "The Cat’s Pajamas" at Waukon High School, sponsored by the Allamakee Music Boosters, was postponed by the threat of winter weather to this Monday, March 3. This all-male a cappella group based out of Branson, MO will now be performing at the Waukon High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Monday, March 3 as part of its seventh annual Music in Schools Tour.
"The Cat’s Pajamas" perform pop classics from the '50s, '60s and '70s, as well as contemporary hits by artists like Jason Mraz and Michael Buble, all in their innovative a cappella style.
The goal of the group is to inspire students, generate increased excitement and passion for music, and encourage all youth and teens to get involved in the arts. The group teaches and mentors students during the school day, focusing on singing techniques as well as sharing their personal journeys and testimonies about how they have turned their love for music into a professional career.
That same night, "The Cat’s Pajamas" puts on a show for the entire community and donates a portion of those profits directly to the Allamakee Music Boosters, which apply it to the Allamakee Community School District music programs. Funds raised by the Allamakee Music Boosters have provided a new sound system for the Waukon High School Auditorium, purchased pianos, risers, used instruments and other equipment for all the schools, plus provided scholarships for students attending camps.

Tickets for the March 3 show are available at Waukon State Bank and Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon, at Winneshiek Mutual Insurance in Decorah, or from any Allamakee Music Booster board member.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the evening of the event.
