RETIRED COL. CHARLES M. BERGESON

Retired Col. Charles M. Bergeson, 77, died July 8, 2000, in Colorado Springs, CO. He owned and managed Travel Travel in Erindale Square. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for 33 years.
Charles was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Allamakee County, the son of Almer and Olga (Horgen) Bergeson. He graduated from Spring Grove High School, MN, in 1940, and was married Aug. 27, 1949, to Bette A. Persinger.
Charles is survived by his wife; two brothers, Howard Bergeson of Waukon and Almo Bergeson of Columbia Falls, MT; and one sister, Delores Higgason of Alexandria, VA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Bergeson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A reception followed the services at Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue.
