St. Patrick School recognizes its Outstanding Alumni

St. Patrick School's Outstanding Alumni Awards for 2004-2005 were recently awarded to (left to right in above photo) Sister Suzanne Gallagher of Guttenberg, and Betty and Kenneth (Cod) Brandt of Waukon. Sister Suzanne, a 1964 graduate of St. Patrick School and current principal of St. Mary's Consolidated School in Guttenberg, was the nominee for outstanding achievement. She is one of 12 principals from across the United States to receive the 2004 NCEA Dr. Robert J. Kealey Distinguished Principal Award from the Department of Elementary Schools of the National Catholic Educational Association. Betty, who completed her St. Patrick schooling in 1938, and Kenneth Brandt were nominated for outstanding service to the Waukon community. Betty and Kenneth are active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and volunteer for the St. Patrick School lunch program. For many years, they, along with members of their family, furnished and served a free Thanksgiving Dinner for people of Allamakee County.
