Statewide Historic Preservation Conference to be held in NE Iowa

The Decorah Historic Preservation Commission will be hosting the 2012 Iowa Statewide Historic Preservation Conference Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. With registration and many of the break-out sessions being held at the Hotel Winneshiek in downtown Decorah, there will also be field trips and walking tours to a variety of historic area sites.
The proposed schedule for the two-day event is as follows:

Friday, April 27
9 a.m.-1 p.m.: Registration at Hotel Winneshiek Lobby
10-11:45 a.m. Concurrent Sessions:

• Property Management Issues and Public Outreach for Prehistoric Burial Sites in Iowa
• Walking Tour - Local Resources for Researching Properties and Family History

1-2:45 p.m. Concurrent Sessions:
• Help Define the Look of Preservation in Iowa in 2022
• Migration and Adaptation: European Log Building Traditions in Northeast Iowa

3:15-5 p.m. Concurrent Sessions:
