Home ›Steve Oden, Loretta Roese to speak at final Lenten breakfasts at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
The tradition of weekly ecumenical Lenten Breakfasts will come to an end for another year next week at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Waukon. The breakfasts begin at 6:45 a.m., serving coffee, juice and rolls, with the program starting at 7 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend each week.
The men gather each Monday during the Lenten season and the women meet each Thursday for the breakfast events. Locations are rotated between area churches each week.
The featured speakers for the final week of the Lenten breakfasts, Monday, March 14 and Thursday, March 17, are:
Steve Oden
Steve Oden, a leader at New Life Christian Church in Waukon, will speak at the Monday, March 14 Men’s Lenten Breakfast at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Steve runs his own business, Oden's Sign Service, here in Waukon. He and his wife Robin have two grown daughters.
Loretta Roese
Loretta Roese will be the speaker for the Women's Lenten Breakfast at St. Paul's United Methodist Church Thursday, March 17. Her topic will be “Music - so much a part of our lives”.
Loretta is a native of Pocahontas, IA and is an Office Administrator for Alliant Energy in Decorah. Her husband Ron is an Inspector for the Department of Health in Allamakee, Clayton and Winneshiek Counties. The Roeses have lived in Waukon since 1977, and are the parents of one daughter, Dawn, and two grandchildren, Alicia and Christian.
