Taylor elected to Board of Directors

"The Community Foundation of the Northeast Iowa Region (formerly the Greater Decorah Area Community Foundation) has elected three new members to its Board of Directors. They are Todd Kowalke, attorney from Cresco, Mari Ann MacDuff, small business owner, also from Cresco and Ron Taylor, retired President of Postville State Bank. These elections expand Board membership into Howard and Allamakee Counties to reflect the new regional name of the foundation.
Officers elected for 2005 are Harlan Satrom, president; Neil Schraeder, vice president; Roger Huinker, treasurer and Richard Ylvisaker, secretary. Other Board members are Judy Adams, Spillville; David Carlson Decorah; Shirl Frana Calmar; Jerry Freund, Decorah; Del Fure, Decorah; Robert Lilllie Calmar; John Nelson, rural Allamakee County; Cheryl Pellett, Decorah; Thomas Ridout, Calmar; Andrew VanDerMaaten, Decorah.
The Community Foundation of the Northeast Iowa Region makes grants each year to support the work of 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. In 2004 it was certified as a "qualified community foundation" by the Iowa Department of Economic Development. It is a candidate for certification under national standards by the Council on Foundations in Washington, D. C. Currently, it sis working with a number of Winneshiek County Agencies and municipalities to create a county affiliate board which annually will receive and distribute a portion of state gambling revenues for charitable use, beginning this year.
