Third place at NAYS Basketball Tournament

Saturday, March 19, a team of nine Waukon Indian girls basketball players competed in the eighth grade division at the NAYS tournament at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The squad captured the bronze medal.
Said coach Paul Huffman, “The team’s three objectives were to have fun, play hard, and believe in themselves and each other. The girls achieved their objectives and were rewarded with a hard-earned medal. Both their parents and coach couldn’t be prouder.”
Team members were Felicia Herman, Taylar Meyer, Regan Thies, Tatum Meyer, Leah Cooper, Brianna Watkins, Gretchen Hanson, Kourtney Smith, and Brenna Grotegut.
