THREE SEEK ALLAMAKEE FAIR QUEEN CROWN

Every event needs its representative royalty, and this year's Allamakee County Fair is no exception.
The fair, running July 19 - 23, will crown a reigning queen on Wednesday evening, July 19, at approximately 8:15 p.m. The event will take place during a break in the scheduled Whitesidewalls performance.
Three county young women vie for this year's Fair Queen title. They include Danielle Delaney of Lansing, Alexis Gunderson of Postville, and Erin Daley of Waukon.

Danielle Delaney -
Daniel Delaney, age 16, of Lansing, is the daughter of Dan and Mary Delaney. She will be a senior at Kee High School this fall.
Danielle is a member of the Kee High cross country and track teams. She has been named to the National Honor Society and sings in the school chorus.
Other areas of involvement include the Future Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), the Ecology Club, Educational Talent Search (ETS), Art Club, and the Wexford Youth Group.

Alexis Gunderson -
Alexis Marie Gunderson is the 17 year old daughter of Gary and Diana Gunderson of Postville. She will be a senior at Postville High School in the fall.
School activities include playing in the percussion section of marching band, concert and pep band.
In addition, Alexis participates in the Postville FFA chapter, where she is a member of the dairy judging team. She was the top fruit salesperson in the fall of 1998 and placed second in 1999.
Alex raises purebred Suffolk sheep with an ewe flock numbering 50 and is a member of the National Junior Suffolk Association. This past May, she received the Star Farmer Award and the Sheep Proficiency Award. She has exhibited sheep at Postville Big Four Fair and the Allamakee County Fair for the past three years. Alex also participated in the FFA breeding sheep show at the Iowa State Fair in 1999.
Alex is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.

Erin Daley -
Sixteen year old Erin Daley is the daughter of Neal and Nancy Daley of Waukon. This fall she will begin her junior year at Waukon Senior High School.
During the academic year, Erin participates in basketball, Key Club, and track, earning varsity letters during the last two playing seasons. She is also an "A" honor roll student at Waukon Senior High.
Erin belongs to the Healthy Lifestyles Center Varsity Dance Team, serves as youth representative for the United Methodist Church, and has been a two-year member of the Crop Walk board.
She enjoys slow pitch softball and flag football, playing on both co-ed and girls' teams in the Waukon City Park.
Erin is employed at Main Feature.
