The Iowa State Patrol reported that three people were seriously injured in a head-on collision Friday, January 4 at around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 76 and Sunshine Hill. Marilyn Martie of Waukon, age 73, was reportedly traveling north on Highway 76 when she lost control of her vehicle, which crossed the center line and collided with a southbound vehicle driven by George Jambois of Genoa, WI, age 86. Jambois and his passenger, Shirley Jambois of Genoa, WI, age 80, were transported by ambulance to Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. Martie was transported by ambulance to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon and then by helicopter to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI where she is listed in serious condition.
