Upcoming holidays will force early deadlines

With both the Christmas and New Year's holidays falling on The Standard's biggest print day, Tuesday, this holiday season, printing for both The Standard and The Northeast Iowa Extra is being forced to move to an earlier date, resulting in earlier advertising and news deadlines for both the December 26 and January 2 editions of both publications.
The news and advertising deadline for the December 26 publications has been moved up to Tuesday, December 18 by 5 p.m., and those same deadlines for the January 2 publications have been moved up to Wednesday, December 26 at 12 noon.
The Standard office will be closing at 2 p.m. both Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24 and New Year's Eve, Monday, December 31, and will be closed Christmas Day, December 25 and New Year's Day, January 1.
Current office pick-up subscribers who usually pick up The Standard either at the newspaper office or through the drive-up window next door Tuesday afternoons will be able to pick up their newspapers each of those holiday eve Mondays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but at The Standard office only. Due to conflicting and uncertainty of schedules, there will be no pick-up window either of those holiday weeks, and The Standard apologizes for any inconvenience that may cause.
