VMH support groups to meet in March

The Veterans Memorial Hospital Diabetes Support Group will hold its next meeting Thursday, March 17, at 10 a.m. in the Large Conference Room. Lynn O’Hara, RN, from VMH Cardiac Rehabilitation will present the program “Diabetes and Heart Disease.” She will discuss the link between diabetes and heart disease and ways to reduce risk factors that could lead to heart disease and stroke. This diabetes class is open to everyone who has diabetes or has a friend or loved one with diabetes. The area Parkinson Support Group will also meet Thursday, March 17 at 1 p.m. at VMH in the Lower Level Large Conference Room. This local group is affiliated with the Wisconsin Parkinson Association which is a regional center for the National Parkinson Foundation. The group welcomes anyone with Parkinson Disease, as well as caregivers of a patient with Parkinson Disease, or any interested family member or friend. The local grief support group will meet Tuesday, March 29, at 3 p.m. in the Dining Room at Veterans Memorial Hospital. This informal meeting is open to anyone suffering from any type of loss, whether it be death, divorce, illness, or some other grief. Please feel free to attend and bring a friend. This grief support group meets the last Tuesday of every month at Veterans Memorial Hospital.
