Walking School Bus to begin August 30 in ACSD

Students in the Allamakee Community School District (ACSD) are invited to join the Allamakee Community School Walking School Bus this fall. Students will be accompanied by responsible supervisors as they walk a safe route to their respective elementary school in Waukon (East, West or St. Patrick Elementary Schools). The Walking School Bus will depart from the playing field one block north of East Elementary near the ACSD bus barn along Fifth Street NW on the following Friday mornings: August 30, September 20, October 18 and November 15.
Walking School Buses get kids physically active, which is essential for healthy growth and development. Kids who are active before school have higher academic scores and behave better in the classroom.
