Area couple exchanges vows

Stacy Lynn Kray and Eric Wayne Thorstenson were united in marriage Sept. 18, 1999, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Newhall. Pastor Steven Rempfer presided over the 4 p.m. ceremony. Parents of the bride are David and Gloria Kray of Newhall. The groom's parents are Wayne and Ronda Thorstenson of Waukon.
The bride, given away by her father, wore a short sleeve gown featuring a pearl and sequin bodice, with nylon tulle over a satin skirt and train. She carried a bouquet of white stargazer lilies, white roses and stefanitis accented with assorted greens.
Matron of Honor for the event was Jodi Becicka, Cedar Rapids. Maids of Honor included Jessica Weis of Marion, Deb Hartkemeyer, sister of groom, Cedar Rapids, Bree Ealy, cousin of bride, Cedar Rapids, Tara Bulman and Dawn Feddern, both of Cedar Rapids. All attendees wore plum A-line dresses and carried stargaser lilies and white roses with baby's breath. Serving as personal attendant was Nicole Voss of Blainstown.
Best Man for the day was Dave Marsden of Cedar Rapids. Other groomsmen were Jared Kray, brother of bride, Newhall; Aaron Schoner, Jeff Neal, and Matt Neuhaus, all of Cedar Rapids; and Tom Mather, Waterloo. Chad Aldrich, Cedar Rapids, and Tim Conrad of Fairfield served as ushers.
A reception was held following the service at the IBEW Hall, with a meal catered by Dostal's. The event was hosted by Jan and Patty Wiltgen, uncle and aunt of the bride. Erica Fransen, niece of groom, managed the guest book. Terri Thorstenson, sister of groom, handed out bubbles. The bride's aunts, Barb Karr and Deanna Sup, cut the cake.
The bride is employed by Aegon Life Investors of Cedar Rapids. The groom is a parts manager at Randy Kuehl Honda, Cedar Rapids. The couple is planning a wedding trip to Disney World this fall.
