VOWS EXCHANGED AT PALESTINE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN HUXLEY

Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley was the setting for the March 11, exchange of vows, between Stephanie Peterson, daughter of Sharon Peterson of Marsing, ID, and Max Peterson of Stanton, and Chris Stein, son of Alfred and Jeanne Stein of Lansing. Pastor Donald Dovre performed the ceremony.
Loraine Whittaker of Marsing, and Helen Stein of Portsmouth are the couple’s grandparents.
Stephen Peterson of Stanton, brother of the bride; and Andy Stein of Lee Summit, MO, brother of the groom, were candlelighters. Mary Carr and Eric Walker were readers. Music was provided by the bride’s cousins, Terri Peterson-Henry, cellist, and Kayli Henry, violinist. Vocalists were the groom’s sister, Michel Herrington and Mary Murtaugh, the groom’s aunt.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her maid of honor was Loretta Harvey of Omaha, NE, and attendants were DeAnn Bressman of LaVista, NE, the bride’s cousin, and Jodie Pettit of Ames and DeAnna Struthers of State Center. Personal attendants were Michelle Wright of Glenwood and Kristin Moeckly of Boone.
Marv Konz of Ames served as the best man, and groomsman were Steve Dryer of Atlanta, IL, Darin Williams of West Salem, WI and Chad Kelchen of Boone.
Ushers were Stephen Peterson of Stanton, brother of the bride; Andy Stein of Lee Summit, MO, brother of the groom; and Doug Regehr of Wichita, KS and Matt Christiansen of Ankeny.
Flower girls were Kristin Henry, the bride’s cousin, and Rebecca Stein, cousin of the groom. Karl Henry, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
The reception was held in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union on the Iowa State University campus. Merle and Chari Peterson hosted the reception for their niece’s wedding. Hilary and Sheila Allen, cousins of the bride, were in charge of the guest book. Julie Stein and Carol Stein, aunts of the groom, and DeAnna Fuller and Kristie Russman, cousins of the groom, cut the wedding cake.
Stephanie is a 1991 graduate of Stanton Community School and a 1996 graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in entomology. She is employed at Asgrow Seed Company in Ames.
Chris graduated in 1992 from Eastern Allamakee Community Schools and in 1996 from ISU with a degree in agricultural systems technology. He is employed at John Deere in Ankeny.
They honeymooned on the island of Maui and are currently making their home in Ankeny.
