Trees to be planted in Postville
April 30 is the date chosen for planting trees in boulevards in Postville and on other city property. Volunteer help is needed. Can you spare a couple of hours to make our hometown an even prettier place to live? Anyone willing to help with the planting is asked to meet at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Please turn to page 16 for more information about the tree program
FCCLA celebrating 60th Anniversary
Postville High School 's FCCLA (Families, Career, Community Leaders of America) is celebrating it's 60th birthday with a Parent/Member potluck on Sunday, April 3 at 6 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Bring tableware & food to pass. Former members are invited to come & help us celebrate!
Club of the Hour to host Guest Night
Club of the Hour is hosting its annual Guest Night Monday, April 4 at Community Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m. Norma Sander will present the program on country schools. Area club members and guests are welcome to attend.
Weather Awareness week
This is Iowa Severe Weather Awareness week. In order to educate and remind residents of Iowa about the dangers of severe weather, the Iowa Emergency Management Division and the National Weather Service are again sponsoring Severe Weather Awareness Week, along with a statewide Tornado Drill. The drill will be held Wednesday, March 30 between 10 and 11 a.m.
Indoor soccer
registration extended
Registration for youth soccer league at the YMCA for children in grades one through five has been extended through March 31.. There is a separate league for boys and girls. The program will meet on Saturday mornings beginning April 2. Registration forms may be picked up at the YMCA or at Cora B. Darling School.
