Head Start/Child Development to hold open house
.The Postville Head Start/Child Development Center will hold an open house for fall enrollment at the Postville Head Start Center, 210 South Ogden, on Wednesday, March 2nd, from 3:30 to 6:00PM. The Postville Head Start/Child Development is a federally/state funded preschool program that is administered by Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation of Decorah, Iowa. This program is provided at no charge to participating families. Currently there are seventeen Head Start/Child Development classrooms in Northeast Iowa. Please see page 6 for a complete news release in English and Spanish.

Clayton Co. Republican Central Committee to meet
The Clayton County Republican Central Committee will meet Thursday,February 24, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at the Central State Drive Up Bank Meeting Room in Elkader. There will be an election of officers. The Advisory Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m.prior to the central committee meeting. Anyone interested in attending a meeting may contact Gwen Eilers, Chairman at 563-783-2458

Book fair coming to Elementary School
The book fair is coming to Cora B. Darling school. It will be held in the library during parent teacher conferences on March 1st and 3rd. It will run from 4 to 8 pm each night. This year's theme is Read a Great Tale. Volunteers are always appreciated. Contact Julie Heitland or Peggy Johnson at 864-7651 ex 245. to volunteer.

NE IA Quilters Guild
Northeast Iowa Quilters Guild will hold their monthly meeting March 5, 2005 at the Postville Community Center. Potluck will be at 7 p.m. and the meeting and guest to follow. The guest speaker Julie Heroz. She will be showing her "Soft & Cuddly Quilts". Afternoon projects will be charity bowls, working on raffle quilt and mystery quilts.
