White family gathers for reunion

The White reunion was held Sunday, July 12, 2009 in the Postville park. The table prayer, "Be Present at our Table Lord" was sung before the potluck dinner was held.

It was interesting to hear Jim White tell about when he was a boy and also stories about when his dad Harold White was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed.

This is the third summer that Gerald and Vada Guyer have had a white Robin in their yard and a nest in the white tree. It has been fun watching it. Vada gave information she had about their "White Robin" to her Aunt Josephine and asked her if she would write a poem about the White Robin. Vada read the poem at the reunion and she also published it for all to read.

Those present were Jeleen Hutchcroft, Anamosa; Jim White, Ridgeway; Arlis White of St. Olaf, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Guyer and Reva Prestemon, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan White and Sara White, Darlis, Shaunaye and Jaleassah Hendry, all of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Andreasssen, and Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Kappes of Decorah; Josephine Brannan of New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kappes, Stefani and Shannon, Mr. and Mrs. Don Kappes, all of Cresco; Darci Colsch of Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ryan and Dustin of Lime Springs.

The next reunion will be July 4 at St. Paul Lutheran Church celebrating Gerald and Vada Guyer's 50th wedding anniver
