Recent disaster declaration covers only public infrastructure

The Presidential declaration that was recently issued for Allamakee County is for the Public Assistance Program, which covers only city, county and state infrastructure to include streets, sewers, debris management and emergency protective measures. The declaration has also made available some mitigation funds for projects to lessen damage from future events.
Individual homeowner assistance was not approved by the federal government. The Iowa Individual assistance grant offered by the state to flood victims has expired.
