Waukon Chamber of Commerce celebrates Chamber Membership Appreciation Month

In honor of March being Chamber Membership Appreciation Month, the Waukon Chamber of Commerce recognizes and extends its sincere appreciation to the more than 160 businesses, industries, professionals and individuals dedicated to enhancing the business climate of the Waukon area and promoting the highest quality of life by becoming Waukon Chamber of Commerce members. The visions, insights, feedback, community involvement, enthusiasm and excitement shown by these Chamber members have been vital links in the chain of the Waukon Chamber and the success of the Waukon community.

The axiom "Working Together is Winning Together" is the driving force of the Waukon Chamber and this is clearly reflected throughout this community. The Waukon Chamber can help members make valuable business contacts through advertising, marketing activities, networking meetings and other strategies.

Membership in the Waukon Chamber represents an investment in the future of each member and this community. Membership promotes the Waukon community through business referrals, visitor information, business networking guide, assistance with retail, business and agricultural special events, educational opportunities, cooperative advertising, links on Waukon Chamber website, assistance in grant writing, newsletters and marketing collaboration with area chamber offices and the area economic development office. Consumers like doing business with chamber members as it is a recognized sign of credibility.

Within the Chamber, itself, there are a number of smaller committees focused on various aspects of Chamber of Commerce operations. Those committees, and what their focus is, include: Membership - the recruitment and retaining of Chamber members; Communications - promoting of the Chamber through a wide variety of ways; Retail & Business - encouraging cooperative business ventures and area promotions; Events - organization and promotion of annual and special events; Finance - responsible financial goals and objectives for the Chamber and its members.

Under the leadership of a 12-member Board of Directors and Executive Director Danny Schlitter, the Waukon Chamber of Commerce invites all area businesses, industries, professionals, organizations and individuals to become a member of the Chamber team. One of the greatest benefits of any community is the effectively organized and orchestrated leadership of its business population. The Chamber's leadership role in the areas of business recruitment, retention, promotion, leadership development, tourism services, selected community development efforts and active participation in governmental affairs has enhanced economic prosperity in this area.
