Jennie Gaulthier

Jennie Marie Gaulthier, age 99, of Lansing, Iowa, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Visitation is Tuesday, March 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Lansing. A Parish Scripture Service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Father Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing. Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jennie Marie was born August 19, 1905, in Victory, Wis., to George and Mary Jeffers. She married Arthur Gaulthier in 1923 in Waukon.

Jennie worked as a carder for many years at the Blumenthal Lansing Company, formerly the Button Factory. She enjoyed being on the river and especially enjoyed fishing. Also, she liked shopping, gardening, going out to eat, canning, tending her flowers, and her Siamese cat Missy. She most enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Fernette of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Mary (John) Iseli of Waukon; six grandchildren, Patricia (Doug) Burgess of Hanceville, Ala., Cheryl (Tim) Stevens of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Kathi (Robert) Hanson of Lansing, Debbie (Jerry) Hutchings of New Albin, Arthur (Lori) Iseli of Waukon, and Fred (Jessica) Iseli of Waukon; ten great-grandchildren, Angie Sherlin, Stefany Burgess, Amy Welch, Tim Stevens, Nickki Stevens, Jennifer Konichek, Krystal Hanson, Mitch Iseli, Danny Iseli, and soon to be born Dalton John Hutchings; and one great-great-grandchild, Aidan Welch.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband on October 5, 1978; one son, Don in 1990; and all five of her siblings, George Jeffers, Warren Jeffers, Mettie Tippery, Violet Willis, and Mary Jeffers.

Casketbearers are Robert Hanson, Jerry Hutchings, Arthur Iseli, Fred Iseli, Tim Stevens, and Doug Burgess.
