Sue Pederson joins ISU Extension as Allamakee County Youth Coordinator

Sue Pederson joined the staff August 1 at the Allamakee County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach as the new County Youth Coordinator (CYC). Her role with 4-H will included managing and supporting the 4-H Youth Development program; supporting volunteers, youth committee and project committees; and developing partnerships within the community to provide 4-H youth with positive youth development through educational programs and experiences.
Pederson and her family have lived in Waterville for 20 years. She brings to the 4-H Youth Program many years of experience working with youth and families, both professionally and personally. As a strong advocate for community and collaboration, she has worked with many organizations that have provided youth with positive experiences and caring relationships. Through her professional career and volunteer roles, she has been involved with many community members. She has provided assistance with child abuse prevention, substance abuse prevention, after school and summer programs, mentoring programs, and family community events and activities.

“I am very excited to be part of the 4-H Program," Pederson said. "I am looking forward to joining the tradition and having the opportunity to share in the excitement of new knowledge.”
