Voting is underway in Coca-Cola’s third-annual "America is Your Park" campaign, which will award a $100,000 grant to the park that receives the most online votes and $50,000 and $25,000 grants to the second- and third-place park, respectively. A $15,000 grant will also be awarded at random to a park that finishes within fourth through 25th places in the final voting.
To vote for a local park, visit https://apps.facebook.com/coca-colaparks, click on the VOTE link on the overview page, find a favorite park and vote for it. There is no limit on the number of times participants may vote. Voting ends July 15. An application called "foursquare" is also available to download and allows voters to "check in" at any time to earn 100 votes at one time for their favorite park.
As of print deadline for this week's issue of The Standard, Tuesday morning, June 26, Waukon City Park was ranked 34th with 47,129 votes.
