Beyer announces candidacy for Allamakee County Auditor

Denise Beyer of Waukon has announced her candidacy as a Republican candidate for Allamakee County Auditor. She grew up in Waukon and is the daughter of Robert (Bob) and Shirley Schulze.
After graduating from Waukon High School in 1991, she attended Simpson College in Indianola, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Following college, Denise worked in the accounting departments at J&H/KVI Insurance and Farm Bureau Insurance in West Des Moines, and also worked at Waukee State Bank, before moving back to Waukon to raise their family.
Denise married Brent Beyer in 1996 and they have two children: Claire, 13, and Brady, 10. She enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, and being leader for her son’s Cub Scout den. Denise has also been involved as an elder for her church, First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, where she has served on the Christian Education committee and has been a leader for the praise band.
Denise worked at Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank in Waukon for six and a half years in bookkeeping, teller services and new accounts. She also worked at Kitchen Krafts, Inc. as Finance Manager before taking a part-time job as a fitness instructor at the Waukon Wellness Center where she still works today. This job has given her the flexibility she desired while her children were younger. Now that her children are a bit older, she is looking to return to a full-time job in the accounting field.
If elected, Denise would bring education, experience and strong organization and communication skills to the job. “The County Auditor position would allow me to do things I really enjoy - work in a job that utilizes my education and experience while also working with the public,” says Beyer. Being able to serve the people of Allamakee County is something she looks forward to if elected to the position of County Auditor.
